4.6 American College Test (ACT)

The ACT is a less commonly used entrance exam than the SAT. Its measurement of your readiness for college is comparable to that of SAT I. We recommend that you take the SAT I, unless your prospective college specifically requires the ACT. If you have taken either of the SAT I or ACT, you do not need to take the other. Tables are available to translate the score on one exam into the corresponding score on the other.

The ACT tests your abilities in: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning. The maximum score on ACT is 36. You can obtain additional information on the ACT (http://www.act.org) on the Web.

You can translate your score from the ACT to SAT I, or vice-versa, using the following table.
