Dear Mentor:
After my BCA, can I get an MBA in Canada? |
I am student in the BCA (Bachelor in Computer Applications). This degree is a mixture of Computer Science, Business & Maths. I would finish my degree next year in May. I have got two years of professional work Experience and three year of part-time experience in my family industry at managerial level. I have secured 624 in the GMAT [Graduate Management Aptitude Test]. I would also clear the TOEFL [Test of English as a Foreign Language] with good marks soon. Further I would like to join MBA at your university. The degree BCA is a three-year degree and is well recoginsed. I would like to know if I am eligible to join an MBA in a Canadian university next year. I would like if you could send me the details of the universities to which I can apply.

Dear Too Early with Not Enough:
iMahal is a portal specializing in Education and Careers. While we offer information, advice and guidance on Education, iMahal is not a university.
A BCA degree does not represent adequate academic qualification to enter an MBA program in Canada or the US. You are required to complete a Bachelor's degree that is equivalent to that in Canada or the US. The Bachelor's degree in Canada or the US is of 4-year duration. Since your degree is a 3-year program, you are expected to complete a Master's degree from India. Your work experience is valuable for making a stronger case for admission into an MBA program, but it is not a substitute for academic qualifications.
The process for applying in Canada is not much different from that in India: find target colleges, submit applications and required documentation, and wait for the answer. You can find the
List of Business Colleges & Universities in Canada in the
iMahal Education Channel. Most colleges have their applications available on the web. The websites also outline the specific admissions process.
