Dear Mentor:
With my scores, which MBA programs should I target? |
I am a graduate in Mechanical Enginering passed out from a leading REC (Regional Engineering College) with 75% marks. I have 8 years post qualification working experience with three leading MNCs. Now I want to pursue an MBA in USA. What is my chance of getting an admission to those institutions whose GPA requirements are ranging between 3.1 to 3.7 in undergradute level? Should I apply to those institutions or should I concentrate on those whose undergradute GPA requirements are much below, say, between 2.5 to 3.0.? My GMAT score is 690.

Dear Focused on MBA:
Your GMAT score is quite good. You can use the iMahal College Finder to identify colleges that best match your GMAT performance. However, you must keep in mind that the College Finder bases its opinions on the historic data and assumes that your performance on other dimensions of the admission criteria is comparable. If your performance on the other criteria is not comparable, then you should accordingly adjust your expectations higher or lower. Based on your academis performance, we suggest that you focus on more competitive schools.
Getting admitted to a top MBA program is extremely competitive, but you can take several actions to improve your chances of success. We suggest that you carefully read the
iMahal Authoritative Guide on Studying in America and Canada. The
iMahal Guide also details the admissions criteria and process.
We also suggest that you search through our website to learn more about the MBA. We have answered, in great detail, many tough questions about all aspects of the MBA. Good luck.
